Acquired in March 2015 on an unconditional basis this 60 acre site, once a munitions factory owned and operated by BAE, is allocated for employment use and following liaison with South Staffordshire District Council and Staffordshire County Council has been included in the recently published ‘Site Allocations Document: Preferred Options’.
Following remediation, the site will be capable of accommodating up to 850,000 sq. ft. and 2016 should see the submission of a planning application for B1, B2 and B8 uses. The expansion of the ROF site to either the east or west as referred to in the Preferred Options document is subject to a “justification” argument.
Detailed discussions are underway to provide a new access road running south of the M54 linking the site with the A460 at Hilton Cross and junction 1 of the M54.
